EDEK Socialist Party

The Cyprus Socialist party EDEK, has hold is pre-election conference meeting in Nicosia’s International Fair Centre, today, Sunday the 12th of December 2010.   The Cyprus Parliament elections will take place in April 2011.
Addressing the conference, EDEK’s honourable president, Dr Vasos Lyssarides has emerged all party members to work for next year’s parliament elections in order to bring the biggest election result the party has ever enjoyed.
The party president Mr. Yiannakis Omoirou, has strongly criticizes the Island’s communist government and is DIKO coalition partners, for the Tough economical measures they have introduce, including higher taxes against low and middle class people. Mr. Omoirou has pledge for Mr. Christofias to withdraw immediately his gifts offer to the Turkish side such as Presidency on equal time, the unrealistic voting system he proposed and the remaining of 50,000 Turkish settlers after the Cyprus political problem solution.
PASOK the Greek brotherhood Socialist party was represented at the conference by Mr. Argyri, Vice-President of the Greek Parliament. MR. Argyri has brought the Greek government’s support and his Prime Minister George Papandreou warm wishes.
Former Forein Minister Mr. Giorgos Lilikas has attended the conference among many other party friendly personalities including 2 ex AKEL members, Mr. Kyriakos Tyrimos and Mr. Agis Agapiou.
All EDEK party officials including A’ Vice-President and MP in the European Parliament Dr. Koullis [Kyriakos] Mavronicolas, had attended the conference plus many party people.
