Britain's cheapest house...yours for £4,000
the same asking price as a second hand CAR.
The two-up two-down property needs total renovation but has been dubbed a "shrewd investment" by experts.
Neighbouring houses in the street in Tonypandy, South Wales, have an average value of a whopping £62,000.
Auctioneer Paul Fosh said: “The cheapest house in Britain was sold in County Durham for £8,000 earlier this year.
“This property is on the market with a guide price of £4,000 - that’s about the same as a second hand family car.”
The terrace house - which has been unoccupied for more than ten years - has two reception rooms, a kitchen, two upstairs bedrooms and a courtyard and back garden.
Mr Fosh said: “It is a traditional mid-terraced home is in need of total renovation including urgent attention to the roof.
“It’s fair to say that the house isn’t in the best condition, however, at this price it could well be a shrewd investment.
“We’re already getting a lot of interest in what must surely be one of the cheapest houses to come onto the market in many years.
“I am expecting keen interest in the sale room.
A neighbour, who didn’t want to be named, said: “It doesn’t have any roof tiles so with the weather we have been having it must be pretty wet inside.
“But all the rest of the houses in the street are quite tidy so it could be restored to its former glory.
“And at £4,000 someone is going to get a bargain.”
The property is due to go under the hammer next month.
