Cyprus Airways has modified the luggage policy
Cyprus Airways (CY) has modified its baggage policies which will come into implementation from next Wednesday. According to CY the size of the bag will remain same but now passengers would not be allowed to take extra kilos of weight in just a few dollars.
Now economic travelers could carry only 23 kg of baggage and a hand bag weighing up to 6 kg instead of 25 kg baggage. The hand bag must come easily on the overhead lockers and lifted unaided. “Larger hand bags than those specified in the table above, should be carried as extra checked baggage items.”
If any passenger wishes to check in a second suitcase he will be charged a €60 flat fee for each extra item of luggage checked in up to 23kg in weight.
A source from the airlines said, “It’s a big change from the old policy where you were allowed up to 25kg for free. If your bag was between 26kg and 30kg there was a €20 charge, if it was between 31kg and 35kg an additional €25 was charged.” While according to the old policy, you could also check in more than 36kg as long as you paid €5 per kg.
This shows that the national flights have also started making the new rule as per the rules of international flights.
